Mark and Alex’s wedding at Clandeboye Lodge was such a joy to capture 🖤

As a wedding photographer Northern Ireland, I usually arrive two hours before the ceremony for morning prep and the preparations are a great warm-up for the day. For today’s wedding my day started at the ceremony and I was a little apprehensive about missing the prep, but as soon as I arrived at the church I was welcomed with so much joy, any worries disappeared. It was great seeing familiar faces too. I’d photographed Alex’s bridesmaid’s wedding, Mark’s sister’s wedding, and another past couple attending as guests. It immediately felt like being among friends.

The whole day flowed perfectly. Everything clicked, and the energy was brilliant. It was also my first wedding shooting with my new favourite lens, the Canon 85mm 1.2 (camera nerd alert!), and every shot worked beautifully for Mark and Alex’s Clandeboye Lodge wedding.

Mark and Alex spent as must time as possible with their guests, and any time I took them away was just for short periods. A quick portrait session on arrival, and another during the evening golden hour, meant they could enjoy as much time with their guests uninterrupted during their wedding at Clandeboye. Between the meal and dancing, we grabbed a few extra group shots with close friends as the light in May in Northern Ireland is a dream 🖤

Their dream team included Heather Allen on make up, friends performing music at the church and a family friend doing the flowers. The evening party was in the hands of Big Kahuna. Robin and the crew brought the energy, keeping the dance floor at Clandeboye packed all night.
